8 common questions answered

What are the known NHTSA recalls for a 2019 Subaru BRZ?
The NHTSA records provided show 2 BRZ-related recalls in the dataset; they concern engine valve springs (risk of fracture and possible engine stall) and an inaccurate owner's manual description of the front passenger occupant classification system affecting certain BRZ model years. These recalls in the supplied data apply to earlier BRZ model years (notably 2013 for the owner’s manual item), so owners of the 2019 Subaru BRZ should verify their VIN to confirm applicability. All recall statements cited here come from NHTSA records; for definitive applicability, bring your VIN to Mike Shaw Subaru Greeley and we will confirm at no charge.
How do I check if my 2019 Subaru BRZ has an open recall?
You can check your VIN on NHTSA.gov or bring your VIN to Mike Shaw Subaru Greeley and we will check it for free using manufacturer systems. To get hands-on confirmation and immediate next steps, schedule service with our factory-trained technicians and we’ll verify open recalls and advise on repairs. Checking the VIN is quick and ensures you receive free manufacturer recall repairs when applicable.
How much does a 2019 Subaru BRZ recall repair cost?
Manufacturer recall repairs are performed free of charge when the recall applies; Mike Shaw Subaru Greeley will complete covered repairs at no cost to you. If additional non-related repairs are identified, we can discuss options and available promotions — see our service specials and ask about service financing to pay over time. Recall repairs use OEM parts and factory diagnostic procedures to protect your warranty and vehicle value.
Can I get my 2019 Subaru BRZ recall fixed at an independent shop or do I need a dealer?
Recall repairs must be performed to manufacturer standards and are best handled by a certified franchise dealer; Mike Shaw Subaru Greeley is a factory-authorized Subaru dealer and performs free recall service using OEM parts. Independent shops may be competent, but only a Subaru franchise dealership has direct access to official recall parts, technical service bulletins, and warranty filing with the manufacturer. For safety and resale protection, we recommend scheduling with your local certified Subaru dealer for recall work — schedule service today.
How long does a 2019 Subaru BRZ recall repair take?
Typical recall repairs vary by campaign: simple inspections or owner’s manual replacements take minutes, while mechanical repairs such as valve spring replacement can take several hours or require parts ordering. At Mike Shaw Subaru Greeley we provide estimated times when you schedule appointment, and we’ll inform you if parts are needed or if a longer repair window is required. We offer loaner vehicle options and service amenities to minimize disruption while the free recall repair is completed.
Does an open recall affect my 2019 Subaru BRZ's trade-in or resale value?
An unresolved recall can negatively impact trade-in offers and resale confidence because dealers and buyers often check NHTSA records and VIN recall status before purchase. Mike Shaw Subaru Greeley will verify and complete required recall work to protect your vehicle’s market value — visit our value your trade page to learn more about preserving resale value. Resolving recalls with a factory dealer documents that the vehicle meets manufacturer safety standards, which supports stronger offers and smoother transactions.
Can I fail a state inspection because of an unresolved 2019 Subaru BRZ recall?
While recalls are not always directly cited on inspection reports, outstanding recall safety issues—especially those that affect critical systems—can complicate registration, insurance claims, or sale inspections in some states. Addressing recalls promptly at Mike Shaw Subaru Greeley ensures your 2019 Subaru BRZ meets manufacturer safety requirements and avoids potential inspection or insurance complications. If you have inspection concerns, contact our service team and schedule service so we can verify recall status and complete any necessary manufacturer repairs.
