8 common questions answered

What are the known NHTSA recalls for a 2024 Subaru Ascent?
The NHTSA record shows five relevant recalls reported for certain 2019 Subaru Ascent vehicles; owners of a 2024 Subaru Ascent should verify applicability by VIN. These recalls involve structure (missing B‑pillar spot welds), driveshaft center support bolts that may loosen, transmission hydraulic sensor and control module reprogramming, a separating aluminum PCV valve, and a low‑pressure fuel pump failure that can cause stalling. All corrective actions listed by Subaru are performed free of charge at authorized dealers, and Mike Shaw Subaru Greeley is equipped to confirm VIN applicability and perform any required repairs.
How do I check if my 2024 Subaru Ascent has an open recall?
You can check open recalls by entering your VIN at NHTSA.gov or by contacting Mike Shaw Subaru Greeley for a free VIN lookup. If you prefer help, bring your VIN to our service desk or schedule service online and our factory‑trained technicians will verify any open campaigns at no charge. We also recommend checking periodically—recall applicability can depend on model year, production run, and replaced parts.
How much does a 2024 Subaru Ascent recall repair cost?
Manufacturer recall repairs are free of charge to the vehicle owner when performed at an authorized Subaru dealer. Mike Shaw Subaru Greeley uses OEM parts and factory diagnostic tools, and any recall repair identified by Subaru will be completed at no cost under the recall program. If additional non‑recall maintenance is requested, ask about our service specials or finance options to manage unexpected costs.
Can I get my 2024 Subaru Ascent recall fixed at an independent shop or do I need a dealer?
Recall repairs must be performed by an authorized franchise dealer to ensure free manufacturer repair and correct use of OEM parts and factory programming. Independent shops cannot perform recall repairs that are covered and documented by the manufacturer without dealer coordination; Mike Shaw Subaru Greeley is the local certified Subaru dealer near Greeley, CO and will perform recall service free of charge. If you need immediate help, schedule appointment with our certified team and ask about service financing if you want to defer non‑recall services.
How long does a 2024 Subaru Ascent recall repair take?
Repair time varies by recall: some fixes (software updates or inspections) can take under an hour while component replacements may take several hours or a day. For example, a transmission control unit reprogramming is typically quick, whereas replacing a driveshaft assembly or short block engine (rare) requires more time; our service advisors will provide an estimated turnaround when you schedule service. If you need a loaner or shuttle, let us know when booking so we can minimize disruption to your day.
Does an open recall affect my 2024 Subaru Ascent's trade‑in or resale value?
An unresolved manufacturer recall can negatively affect resale and trade‑in value because many buyers and dealers check NHTSA records and service history. Addressing recalls at Mike Shaw Subaru Greeley protects your vehicle’s value and marketability; when you’re ready, submit a value request at our trade‑in page. Recall repairs are completed with OEM parts and documented on the vehicle’s service history, which reassures buyers and can preserve or enhance resale value.
Can I fail a state inspection because of an unresolved 2024 Subaru Ascent recall?
Some recalls address safety‑critical systems that states may consider during inspections, so unresolved recalls can lead to inspection issues in some jurisdictions. Because the listed recalls involve structure, driveshaft, fuel pump, PCV valve, and transmission control components, it’s safer to have any open recall addressed promptly at our dealership to avoid inspection or insurance complications. Book a VIN check or schedule service and ask about our current service specials and financing options to get repairs done now and pay later.
