What are the known NHTSA recalls for a 2022 Subaru Ascent?
The NHTSA lists five recalls affecting Subaru Ascent models (records cite 2019 model-year campaigns covering structure, driveshaft, transmission control, PCV valve, and fuel pump issues). Summary: missing spot welds at the B-pillar can reduce crash strength; driveshaft center support bolts may loosen; a transmission hydraulic sensor may misread pressure causing drive power loss; an aluminum PCV valve can separate and enter the engine causing power loss; and a low-pressure fuel pump may fail and stall the engine. What we do: Mike Shaw Subaru Greeley inspects VINs, performs manufacturer-specified repairs or replacements free of charge, and uses OEM parts and factory-trained technicians to restore safety.
How do I check if my 2022 Subaru Ascent has an open recall?
Check your VIN on NHTSA.gov or bring your VIN to Mike Shaw Subaru Greeley and we will check for free. You can also call Subaru customer service at 1-844-373-6614 for recall specifics; our service team will confirm and explain any required work and the expected timeline. To have us verify and book repairs, schedule service online; ask about our service financing options to get necessary work done now and pay later.
How much does a 2022 Subaru Ascent recall repair cost?
Manufacturer recall repairs for covered defects are free of charge to the vehicle owner. For the listed recalls, Subaru covers inspections, reprogramming, component replacement, and, if necessary, engine or transmission assembly replacement at no cost per the recall notices from NHTSA. If you have questions about additional non-recall work, our advisors can provide estimates and explain available service specials; see our service specials.
Can I get my 2022 Subaru Ascent recall fixed at an independent shop or do I need a dealer?
Recall repairs must be completed by an authorized franchise dealership to guarantee OEM parts, factory updates, and zero out-of-pocket manufacturer coverage; a certified Subaru dealer is the recommended and safest choice. Mike Shaw Subaru Greeley is a factory-authorized Subaru franchise with OEM diagnostic tools and factory-trained technicians who follow Subaru’s recall repair procedures exactly. If you prefer independent shops, discuss coverage with Subaru first; we can still verify VIN status and perform recall repairs free — schedule service today and ask about our service financing options.
How long does a 2022 Subaru Ascent recall repair take?
Repair time varies by recall: simple inspections or software reprogramming can take under an hour, while component or engine replacements may require more time and parts availability. For the recalls noted by NHTSA, most inspections and reprogramming tasks are fast; driveshaft or engine work can take longer and may require parts ordering or assembly replacement. For a precise estimate and to schedule appointment, contact Mike Shaw Subaru Greeley — we provide ETA details when you book and offer loaner/alternate-transport options when available.
Does an open recall affect my 2022 Subaru Ascent's trade-in or resale value?
Yes. An unresolved recall can reduce resale and trade-in value because many buyers and dealers check NHTSA records before purchase. Having recall work completed at a certified Subaru dealer like Mike Shaw Subaru Greeley protects value by documenting manufacturer repairs performed with OEM parts. To protect your vehicle’s value, complete recall repairs before selling or trading and consider using our value your trade service; we also offer pre-approval for purchases at financing.
Can I fail a state inspection because of an unresolved 2022 Subaru Ascent recall?
Open recalls are not typically a direct reason to fail safety inspections, but related defects (stalling, loss of power, structural weakness) can lead to failed inspections or safety concerns during enforcement checks. The NHTSA recall notices for the Ascent list safety-related defects such as potential engine stalls and compromised structural strength, which create real inspection and safety risks. To avoid inspection problems, have Mike Shaw Subaru Greeley inspect and address recalls free of charge — you can schedule service and ask about current service specials and service financing.
