What are the known NHTSA recalls for a 2022 Subaru BRZ?
The NHTSA has issued 2 recalls related to the BRZ model line; these recalls reference engine valve spring fractures and owner manual inaccuracies affecting certain 2013 BRZ vehicles, and owners should verify applicability for a 2022 Subaru BRZ by VIN. The first recall concerns engine valve springs that may fracture and could cause an engine malfunction or stall; NHTSA cites an increased crash risk. The second recall addresses inaccuracies in the owner’s manual that could affect air bag occupant classification information for certain 2013 BRZs. Subaru’s engine recall reference is WTY-84 and Subaru customer service numbers listed in NHTSA records include 1-844-373-6614 and 1-800-782-2783 for owner manual corrections; Mike Shaw Subaru Greeley can confirm whether your 2022 Subaru BRZ is affected.

Can I get my 2022 Subaru BRZ recall fixed at an independent shop or do I need a dealer?
Recall repairs must be completed by an authorized dealer to ensure OEM parts and manufacturer warranty tracking, so you should visit a certified Subaru dealer like Mike Shaw Subaru Greeley. How long does a 2022 Subaru BRZ recall repair take?
Most recall repairs vary but many take between one and a few hours; exact time depends on the specific remedy and parts availability. For example, the valve spring replacement described in NHTSA records requires inspection and part replacement and may take a few hours once parts are available; owner’s manual corrections are completed by mailing updated materials or brief dealer visits. Contact Mike Shaw Subaru Greeley to confirm expected turnaround for your VIN; you can schedule appointment online and review any current service specials.
Does an open recall affect my 2022 Subaru BRZ's trade-in or resale value?
An unresolved recall can negatively impact trade-in offers and buyer confidence, so having recalls addressed preserves value. Many dealers and private buyers check NHTSA recall status before purchase; getting recalls serviced at Mike Shaw Subaru Greeley using OEM parts protects resale value and documents proper repair history. When you are ready, visit our trade appraisal page at value your trade after recall repairs to get the best market offer and include recall repair documentation for higher confidence.
Can I fail a state inspection because of an unresolved 2022 Subaru BRZ recall?
Open recalls themselves are not always an automatic inspection failure, but certain recall defects that affect emissions or safety systems can lead to failed inspections or registration issues in some states. The engine valve spring recall noted by NHTSA can cause engine malfunction or stall, which is a safety concern that could affect inspections or insurance claims if left unaddressed; always resolve safety-related recalls promptly. Bring your vehicle to Mike Shaw Subaru Greeley; we will check VIN recall status and complete required repairs free of charge so you remain compliant with state inspection standards and maintain insurance protections.
