What you need to know now
The NHTSA has 17 recall records related to Crosstrek and Crosstrek Hybrid model years in its database; some campaigns specifically include 2019 Crosstrek Hybrid vehicles and other Crosstrek model years. Even if your 2020 Subaru Crosstrek Hybrid is not explicitly listed in a campaign, it’s important to check your VIN so we can confirm any open recalls and perform any necessary, free repairs at Mike Shaw Subaru Greeley.
What are the known NHTSA recalls for a 2020 Subaru Crosstrek Hybrid?
The NHTSA database lists 17 recall records affecting Crosstrek and Crosstrek Hybrid vehicles across multiple model years, including campaigns for brake light switches, engine components, PCV valves, suspension bolts, and ignition/ECM software issues. Relevant components include brake light switches that can fail, ECM/ignition coil short risks, PCV valve separation, rear stabilizer bolts that can loosen, window glass tempering, seat belt assemblies, and power steering or electrical accessory issues. Because some campaigns target specific production ranges, we recommend verifying your VIN so Mike Shaw Subaru Greeley can confirm whether your 2020 Subaru Crosstrek Hybrid is affected.
How do I check if my 2020 Subaru Crosstrek Hybrid has an open recall?
Check your VIN on NHTSA.gov or bring your vehicle to our service center for a free VIN recall check; the NHTSA VIN lookup and dealer records are authoritative sources for recall status. You can also call Subaru customer service, but the fastest option is to schedule service with Mike Shaw Subaru Greeley and we will verify recalls at no charge. If you prefer to check online first, have your 17-character VIN ready when visiting NHTSA.gov or when contacting our service team.
How much does a 2020 Subaru Crosstrek Hybrid recall repair cost?
Manufacturer recall repairs are free of charge to the vehicle owner; Subaru covers parts and labor for recall campaigns found in NHTSA records. Mike Shaw Subaru Greeley performs recall repairs using OEM parts and factory-trained technicians, and there is no cost for any covered recall work. If you need additional non-recall maintenance at the same visit, ask about current service specials or our service financing options so you can get necessary work now and pay over time.
Can I get my 2020 Subaru Crosstrek Hybrid recall fixed at an independent shop or do I need a dealer?
Recall repairs must be performed by a qualified facility to ensure OEM parts and factory procedures are used; a franchised Subaru dealer like Mike Shaw Subaru Greeley is the safest option to satisfy manufacturer repair requirements. Independent shops may perform some repairs, but only a certified Subaru dealer can guarantee recall work follows Subaru’s procedures and that parts and software updates are completed under the recall program at no cost. For your convenience, schedule service online — our team will confirm eligibility and complete any required recall repairs free of charge.
How long does a 2020 Subaru Crosstrek Hybrid recall repair take?
Repair time varies by campaign: some software updates take under an hour, while hardware replacements (for example, brakes, PCV valve, or stabilizer bolts) can take several hours. At Mike Shaw Subaru Greeley we work to keep turnaround fast and convenient; when you schedule appointment, we’ll give an estimated time based on the specific recall and parts availability. If you need transportation, ask about loaner options, shuttle service, or flexible scheduling to minimize downtime while we complete the free recall repair.
Does an open recall affect my 2020 Subaru Crosstrek Hybrid's trade-in or resale value?
Yes — unresolved recalls can reduce buyer confidence and may lower trade-in or resale value because dealers and private buyers commonly check NHTSA records before purchase. Having recalls completed at Mike Shaw Subaru Greeley restores documented safety compliance and can protect or improve your vehicle’s resale and trade-in value; you can start a valuation at our trade-in page. Resolving recalls also avoids complications with insurance claims and state inspections that sometimes require all manufacturer recalls be addressed.
Can I fail a state inspection because of an unresolved 2020 Subaru Crosstrek Hybrid recall?
Some recalls affect safety systems that are evaluated during state inspections; an unresolved safety recall could cause an inspection failure in jurisdictions that check recall status. To avoid inspection or registration issues, have open recalls inspected and repaired at Mike Shaw Subaru Greeley — recall repairs are free and performed by factory-trained technicians using OEM parts. We also offer service financing and can help you find current service specials if additional non-recall work is needed.
