Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

8 common questions answered

What are the known NHTSA recalls for a 2015 Subaru BRZ?
The NHTSA record shows 2 recalls related to the BRZ family: one involving engine valve springs and one involving an incorrect owner's manual for certain model years. The engine valve spring issue affected some 2013 BRZ vehicles and related models and can cause engine malfunction or stall; the owner's manual recall corrected occupant classification information. Mike Shaw Subaru Greeley can verify VIN-specific applicability.
How do I check if my 2015 Subaru BRZ has an open recall?
Check your VIN at NHTSA.gov or bring your vehicle to our service department for a free VIN recall check. To have us verify and, if needed, book repairs, schedule service online and we will confirm recall status and next steps at no cost.
How much does a 2015 Subaru BRZ recall repair cost?
Manufacturer recall repairs are performed free of charge to the vehicle owner. If any related maintenance or non-recall repairs are needed, ask about service financing via our financing application and current service specials.
Can I get my 2015 Subaru BRZ recall fixed at an independent shop or do I need a dealer?
Recall repairs must be performed at a certified franchise dealer to ensure OEM parts and manufacturer warranty compliance. Mike Shaw Subaru Greeley is a factory-authorized Subaru dealer with OEM parts, factory-trained technicians, and the appropriate diagnostic tools to complete recall work correctly and free of charge.
How long does a 2015 Subaru BRZ recall repair take?
Most recall repairs are completed in a single visit, though exact times depend on the specific recall and parts availability. When you schedule appointment, we’ll provide an estimated turnaround and notify you if parts must be ordered; priority is given to safety repairs.
Does an open recall affect my 2015 Subaru BRZ's trade-in or resale value?
An unresolved recall can negatively impact trade-in value and buyer confidence because many dealers and private buyers check NHTSA records and VIN history. Resolve recalls at Mike Shaw Subaru Greeley to protect resale value, and get a verified repair record to present when you request a trade appraisal at value your trade.
Can I fail a state inspection because of an unresolved 2015 Subaru BRZ recall?
Open recalls are safety-related and, depending on local inspection rules, could affect inspection outcomes or insurance coverage in certain cases. Address recalls promptly at Mike Shaw Subaru Greeley — we perform free manufacturer recall repairs and can advise whether a specific open recall might impact your state inspection or insurance.
