What the service covers on the 2024 Subaru Outback
An oil change for the 2024 Subaru Outback starts with draining the used engine oil and refilling it with the oil specified for the vehicle. The service also includes a new oil filter, a reset of the oil life monitor, and a check of the underhood fluid levels. Fresh oil supports the engine’s ability to carry heat and debris, while the filter helps remove contaminants from the circulating oil.
Engine oil gradually loses its additive package and heat-carrying ability, so appearance alone is not a reliable guide for maintenance timing. The 2024 Subaru Outback follows intervals matching the 2023 and 2025 models: the oil filter should be replaced every 6,000 miles, and the engine oil should be changed every 6,000 miles. An oil-change reminder, mileage past the last service, dark or low oil on the dipstick, or a ticking or louder start-up sound can indicate that service is due. Drivers can schedule service with Mike Shaw Subaru Greeley.
