What the service covers on the 2017 Subaru Forester
The oil change service for the 2017 Subaru Forester begins with draining the used engine oil and refilling it with the oil grade specified by the manufacturer. A new oil filter is installed to help capture contaminants, while the oil life monitor is reset so the maintenance reminder reflects the completed visit. Underhood fluid levels are also checked as part of the service.
Engine oil loses its additive package and its ability to carry heat and debris long before it necessarily looks dirty. That is why the manufacturer's schedule calls for service every 6,000 miles rather than relying only on appearance. An oil-change reminder light, mileage beyond the last service, dark or low oil on the dipstick, or a ticking or louder engine note at startup can indicate that the 2017 Subaru Forester is due for attention. Drivers can schedule service with Mike Shaw Subaru Greeley.
